Upcoming
Races and Local Race Results
- Buffalo Springs Tri's (TX) - June 25th
- Magdalena to Kelly 7k Run - July 9th
France Stevens Triathlon
Not so
windy as the last tri! There were enough last minute entries to make it
a fun race with 84 participants. As usual, the run was about .2 miles
short in the 5k/35k/400m race.
I have scanned in the raceday results, which have at least error (Mary Wells in M45-49) Page 1 & Page 2.
- Jayme Margolin - 7th OA - 1st in F25-29
24:53 1:15:24 9:28 = 1:49:45
- Ephraim
Ford - 10th OA, 3/6 in M25-29

- Julie
Ford - 2nd OA, 1/3 in F30-34

Duece's Wild Triathlons
The results are finally up on the race's webpage.
Great job to Cathy Pfeifer for finishing third in the Olympic tri, Matt
for being 5th/11 in a tough age group. They also finished well (3rd I
blieve) in the Off-road tri relay!
Kona 70.3
Steven Montoya had an excellent time in Kona for the 70.3 (was called a
half-ironman). He even placed 15th in his age group and 113th overall.

Milkman Triathlon (Roswell)
We had a bunch of locals do the race with 3 Higgs' WINNING their age
classifications along with Erika winning hers and Jayme getting a
second! For the official results, see the CCR
Timing website.
Sahuarita Lake Triathlon
On Memorial Day, Julie, Ephraim, and Rafael enjoyed the murky waters of
the Sahuarita Lake Tri (just south of Tucson). It was Rafael's first
tri and he bested over
half of his age group while everyone else lowered their times from last
year. Ephraim even pulled off a 2nd place AG finish after taking the
overall winner out of the group. Full results for the 1000m/25k/5k race
are here.
Jay Benson Sprint Triathlon (ABQ)
We had quite a few Soccorans do the race with 3 Higgs' placing in their
classifications! For the official results, see the CCR
Timing website.
Run For the Zoo 5k/10k (ABQ)
We had at least 8 Soccorans run either the 5k or 10k on May 7th! For
the official results, see the Do
It Sports website.
San Diego Spring Sprint Triathlon
Pete had quite an interesting trip on the weekend of May
6th-7th
- He drove to San Diego and did a spint tri while there! Despite the
water being around 65 degrees and the swim start going off without him
for 90 seconds, he finished 11th/35 in his age group with a time of
1:04:35 according to the results
online.
Atomic Man Duathlon Results
Good job Cathy for getting a third place in the Fat Man Duathlon! She
finished the 10k/40k/5k in 3:03:30.
For full results, see the Atomic Man
Duathlon website.
High Altitude Classic (MTB)
We had a few locals race this MTB race on the 30th of April.
NMCycling.org has the race
results (PDF) on their website.
Way To Go Marathoners!
Congratulations to Katie Devine (4:22) and Robert Abernathy
(4:13)

Way to go Willie, Ligia, and Richard for winning your categories!
Richard's finish must have been exciting as he won by a mere two
seconds.
Wind Triathlon,
err, Aquathlon Race Report
Yikes! WSMR was the site of some really strong
winds on
Saturday morning (4/15). I estimated them to be to about a steady 25
mph with
gusts around 50! It made the Mt. Taylor bike descent look easy.
That said, Julie and I did pretty well as the bikeless
course worked to our advantage. I scanned in the full
results here (465k).
